As the Head of the CAD team you’ll help enable world-class execution by our IC Design& Technology teams. We believe in strong collaboration across all the teams and understand the value that a strong CAD organization delivers to the IC Design process.Your key responsibilities follow:• Lead a CAD team located at multiple design centers• Establish policies and procedures for your CAD team to help drive quality execution within your organization• Assign tasks and development projects to your CAD team• Work closely with the Design & Technology heads to understand their development process and collaborate on execution enhancement initiatives that help enhance quality and speed• Work with CAD Vendors on tool selection and licensing• Work with the VP of Engineering on priorities, major initiatives and annual budgetingThe CAD team today has 3 high level responsibilities. We strive to maximize the time CAD can spend on #11. Support and Enhance the Design, Technology and Layout team’s ability to execute via various initiatives requiring scripting, training and possibly new tools2. Manage CAD tools and Foundry PDKs required for IC Design & Layout including their use, their installation and the rollout of updates3. Address any CAD-related issues experienced by the Engineering teamsThe head of the CAD team is expected to have both superior leadership and superior technical skills some of which follow:• Leadership by example. Set a high execution standard for yourself and your team• Expertise with industry-standard IC design tools including Cadence, Mentor and Synopsys• Understanding of foundry PDK structure, organization and usage• Strong knowledge of the IC Design Flow• Superior debugging skills• Experience testing and validation of internal and external EDA tools and scripts• Expertise with using and programming of Cadence and Mentor Physical Design Verification tools• Expertise in SKILL programming including pcell coding• Expertise in shell scripting and Perl and/or Python programming• Ability to mentor and guide a CAD team to be a strategic force QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS• BS in CS or EE or equivalent work experience• 15+ Years Experience in CAD roles. 5+ years of CAD leadership preferred
