The successful candidate demonstrates skill and enthusiasm in all aspects of the silicon design process. The candidate will be expected to take on expanding responsibilities in a fast-paced startup environment. Affective collaboration with other remote VLSI engineers and development partners is essential in this role, to deliver high-quality silicon designs. The candidate will be responsible for all logic and physical design stages of VLSI design, including cluster and unit design, synthesis, timing closure, physical design, pre- and post-silicon validation.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Design logic and perform logic synthesis
  • Design and optimize microarchitecture
  • Develop design flows and automation for synthesis and timing closure
  • Implement experiments to quantify performance, power, and area
  • Receive and integrate third-party IP
  • Integrate high-performance I/O and memory controller blocks
  • Support physical design to optimize circuit performance
  • Drive DFT and BIST approached for cluster and unit-level blocks
  • Develop assertions and coverage monitors; assist with functional and formal verification
  • Define test plans
  • Implement pre-silicon regression suites and generate silicon quality information

Qualifications

  • MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fields, or BS with 2-6 years of experience in the field
  • Communication and remote collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Linux, scripting in bash and Python, and C/C++
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and/or TL-Verilog for high-speed digital logic, IP integration, microarchitecture design and optimization, and performance modeling
  • Knowledge of processor micro-architecture, cache and memory controller design
  • General understanding of verification principles including UVM, formal verification, coverage, and test plans
