The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and lead geographically dispersed project teams of other VLSI engineers and development partners to deliver chip products on time and within budget. The candidate will be responsible for all stages of VLSI design and development of the silicon platform for Robotics, including product architecture, design, timing closure, pre- and post-silicon verification.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Analyze and model performance of silicon product features
  • Design and optimize microarchitecture
  • Architect and floorplan the full chip design
  • Develop design flows and automation for synthesis and timing closure
  • Coordinate with product management to validate product features and quality
  • Coordinate with physical design to optimize circuit performance and reliability
  • Drive quality through pre-silicon verification plan and CI/CD
  • Design and implement good die test vectors
  • Create post-silicon bring up and verification plan
  • Provide technical VLSI expertise to internal teams and external development partners
  • Provide leadership across the VLSI team to deliver reliable, cost-effective and high-quality solutions for VLSI prototypes and products
  • Drive VLSI design innovation and new technologies into new products


  • D. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fields, or B.Sc. with 10+ years of experience in the field
  • Communication and remote collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Linux, scripting in Bash and Python, and C/C++ model development
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and/or TL-Verilog for high-speed digital logic, IP integration, microarchitecture design and optimization, and performance modeling
  • Knowledge of ARM, RISC-V, DSP, vector and data flow processing
  • Deep understanding of verification principles including UVM, formal verification, coverage, and test plans
