Software/Firmware Recruiters and Executive Search

Engaged a unique individual with hardware, software, and co-development expertise for our client that understands IC hardware and software at a technical depth rarely seen. He was hired and is now successfully leading their software program management functions. The client company had been trying to hire this person out of the “usual suspects” competitors but to no avail. The technical bar was quite high and other companies didn’t require as much co-development. SBT looked outside the traditional semiconductor industry and focused on a candidate with expertise in an adjacent sector that aligned with the co-development need of the client company. Found and placed a DSP Firmware Manager who not only understood algorithm development, but algorithm implementation as well. This was a tough skillset to find, especially within the commonplace competitors, but our client was running tinto the issue of compensation as these individuals were paid at the highest comp bands in the industry at each competitor. We found an OEM in an a-typical location that had an untapped group of DSP experts and we were then able to identify their top technical leader and move him cross country to our client’s headquarters. Client, a well-regarded fabless semiconductor company, had formed a new software organization and had been looking for 2 years for someone to lead the growing test group. SBT recruited a Software Test Manager from a direct competitor of client who happened to be in a different location with a family that had strong roots in the area. The candidate had the rare combination of technical leadership within both pre and post-silicon testing as well as key leadership credentials that client coveted. SBT was able to make placement with full relocation within 90 days of search start. Client was at an inflection point with its upcoming chipset and needed not only the go to market and product definition leadership, but also needed someone who had commercialized millions of chipsets into the low power consumer space for a very specific space within IoT. We found and placed a Technical Director out of a major competitor of client. This person was able to come on board and within a year lead the next generation chips to go to market and generate hundreds of millions in revenue. SBT was able to identify and place a software engineering leader from a preeminent publicly traded company, who had software leadership experience, business ownership experience and the technical Agile SDLC experience that client company required for this confidential replacement search.
